Fashion Evolution: FOREVER! show epitomizes the future of fashion and the essence of progressive designers
By: Rosanna Ortiz Sinel
The Fashion Evolution “Forever” show at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse on
Sunday, September 27th was the perfect opening for Fashion Week. Set in the
gorgeous hall of the courthouse the runway reflected beautifully off the enormous floor
to ceiling windows which gave the event a grandiose feel. Massive lights filled the
space with lighting which made the models look like angels walking towards the
immense amounts of photographers at the end of the runway. Master of ceremonies
included VIP host and celebrity stylist Omid Maxey and Ms. Thea B. It was an
extraordinary set-up event that made you feel you were in a city other than Boston.
Thirteen designers translated their futuristic outlook in their clothing lines and
accessories. Los Angeles based designer Delise Ana Parker gave new meaning to
leather with her floor length leather gowns and separates. While David Chum?s
structured garments were the perfect juxtaposition of modern edge and timeless chic.
Gretchen Lafond of MadeMOIselle Boston presented her line of feminine frocks with a
sprinkle of provocativeness and trend; while Ontario designer, Cindy Renee Mathieu for
Sodalicious introduced us to feminine clothing with a rocker edge. Think Marie
Antoinette in a girl band.
Clothing designers weren?t the only ones who blessed the runway with their talents,
jewelry designers partook in the festivities as well. Catalina De La Torre doused
models dressed in black with her exquisite semi-precious stones and gold jewelry, one
of yours trulys favorites. Kendall V. Bretto?s jewelry designs mixed African influenced
pieces and a modern feel for her line. Exaggerate necklaces and bracelets graced her
models with a haute-couture feel. VIP jewelry designer of the evening Perpetual
Anastasia Hayfron introduced us to her modified wire jewelry items which provided the
perfect touch to the futuristic feel of the evening.
This was a collaboration of not just fashion and accessories but of art. The people who put this show together not only put in countless hours but heart. This show couldn’t have been done so well without the likes of Stanley DeSarmes, CEO/Founder of iMan Fashion Group; Regine Lafond, managing partner of the iMan Fashion Group and owner of MadeMOIselle Boston and Style It Up news reporter and iMan Fashion Group event planner Jimmy Guzman. The iMan Fashion Group gave these accomplished designers the opportunity to showcase their eclectic and prophetic designs to the masses of Boston-and we welcomed it with open arms.
