Nirva combines luxury clothing and an intimate ambiance for the perfect fashion show.

Beautiful people, stunning location, miniature cupcakes, champagne cocktails and the most exquisite clothing collection. Nirva’s spring/summer 2010 collection, “Armenian Odyssey” was nothing short of flawless. Designing her clothing for over a decade, Nirva Derbekyan focuses on using the richest of fabrics and pays attention to detail- which was completely evident in this collection.
Set in the glamourous location of Mizu salon in the Mandarin Hotel the show had an intimate and exclusive feel. Mizu’s all white interior was the essential backdrop for the aquas, oranges, grays, and ivory’s of Nirva’s collection. Models graced down the runway with hair in a modern messy tease and red-kissed lips. It made you feel as if you were in a Mediterranean city rather than the east coast.
An orange silk draped dress with skirt and beaded belt; and a peacock blue silk draped asymmetrical dress provided a burst of color against the stark white of the runway. White cotton pique dress with gold coupure dentelle hem; and a black silk gown with a train and netting sleeves was the perfect drop of black to the colorful collection. The entire line was full of personality and sophistication. Nirva has not only defined herself as a top designer but also a designer who has a vision and sticks to it. You will find no look in Nirva’s collection that is a replica of anyone.
Most of the line consisted of dresses and gowns but also incorporated skirts, tunics and classic cotton tee’s. An easy wardrobe for the fashionable woman. If femininity and chic had offspring together it would be the spring/summer 2010 collection by Nirva. The two flawless characteristics to combine together for ultimate woman's wardrobe. Well done.
