Night of the Monarch Gala brings the 4th Annual Stuart Weitzman show to life for
Fashion Week.

Magnificent. The word that encapsulates the 4th annual Stuart Weitzman show at the
Westin Waterfront Hotel on Saturday, September 26th. This spectacular event put on
by Ovations for the Cure wanted to be a part of Fashion Week not just because of the
fashion aspect, but also because September is ovarian cancer awareness month. This
being a huge cause and a Lisa Tocci from Ovations was hoping the gala would raise
over $300,000 towards the research of ovarian cancer-and by the turnout of the
evening, I think she went home with a huge smile.

The highlight of the evening besides the silent auctions and the elaborate three-course
dinner of course was the fashion show. Leggy models dressed in beige bodysuits
glided across the runway covered in jewels by A.M. DePrisco had the latest fashions of
Stuart Weitzman adorned on their feet. Massive video screens bookended each side of
the stage while the music of the latest pop blared out of the speakers. This was a show
that made you want to put on a beige bodysuit and dance.

But the shoes...oh the wonderful shoes. From tall blood-red suede boots to silver
Swarovski embellished stilettos; this was the best Stuart Weitzman collection yet.
Platform pumps in vivid hues such as purple and ruffled t-strap heels in grays filled the
runway and the guests heads with envy. Reds, grays and plums were the top three
colors of the show and suede was the material of choice. As the crystal encrusted
heels stepped out on to the runway, it was hard not to notice the gasps from the women
who were just dying to add those gems to their collection.

Many of the suede tall boots and pumps donned a patent leather heel which made the
shoes sparkle as they left the runway. A subtle and eloquent upgrade from the typical
stacked or covered heel.

With a wonderful event, great food and good people, I would say the event was a huge
success.
