BOSTONFASHION & LOS ANGELES MODE @ LA FASHION WEEK
The Faulkner-Sagoff Gala at the Westin Copley Place was a beautiful event to raise funding for detection, prevention, and treatment breast cancer. The event featured emcee Susan Wornick, WCVB-TV newscaster, 7News anchors Francis Rivera, Anne Allred and Dylan Dreyer, and style mogul Gretchen Monahan, known as Gretta, who is a style expert on the Rachel Ray show and host of "Gretta's Got It" fashion segment on 7News. The evening sponsored by Shreve, Crump & Low included an auction, fashion show, dinner and dancing.

Fantastic items including jewelry, luxury vacations, artwork, shopping sprees, and Red Sox dugout seats, were auctioned to raise thousands of dollars for the Faulkner-Sagoff Centre. The energy in the room was of generosity and genuine compassion as health care professionals and Boston's elite spoke of how breast cancer has affected their lives, and the need for women to have access to facilities for breast cancer treatment and also mammogram services for prevention and early detection.

Annual Faulkner-Sagoff Gala

Voted off Bravo! T.V's Project Runway, Massachusetts native Alison Kelly, is a pretty, sweet- natured, thoughtful, avant-guard force to be reckoned with.

Alison Kelly didn't make for good reality television.  And this, along with her talent and philosophy on design, is why Alison Kelly makes for a good designer.

At a moment in fashion when you can walk into any mass department store looking like yourself, and can leave looking and smelling like a bootleg copy of your favorite socialite turned fashion designer, Alison Kelly may be just what we need to end the disposable-couture, tabloid-driven style in mainstream fashion. Her clothing line, Dahl, is a mix of chic-pretty-sexy, thoughtfully constructed dresses. Her designs seem more instinctive than contrived, more inventive than conventional. The collection emulates a girl-about-town modernity, with a quiet confidence, and innate style.
