Top 5 for Late Spring/ Early Summer
Add Some Flair to your Summer Style with
these top fashionable looks!!
1. Terry cloth.
Thanks to J- Lo’s new clothing line, we’re
seeing more and more of this ohhhh so comfy fabric. Terry Cloth is perfect
for poolside, the clubhouse, the golf course, or any other of your casual
outings. We are so fortunate to have a trend that not only looks chic,
but also feels so plush. Many of the celebs have been trendspotted wearing
terry cloth, particularly in Jennifer Lopez video “I’m Real”. Ms. a La
Chic suggests soft pastel colors such as baby blue, soft pink, and yellow.
What’s more, these ensembles can be purchased inexpensively, our spies
found Mossimo terry halters at Target locations for $10.00!! |
2.
Island Themes.
If you can’t get to Jamaica, then relax,
we can bring the tropics to you. There will be many cool and fashionable
ways to bring this look into your wardrobe. Look for handbags with tropical
scenes, there are some great Isabella Fiore look alikes that sport hula
girls, palm trees, and similar island styles. Just looking at your handbag
will have you in Nirvana (minus the Pina Colada, of course). These bags
are adorable for bar hopping, the beach, or a party on a roof deck. Many
of these tropical prints are etched with crystal, made with a bamboo trim
and bamboo handles. Chic Streets is now selling the ever so popular bamboo
bracelets that compliment your accessories! |
3. For The Frill of it !
Ruffles, and Eyelet Lace. I never
pictured myself wearing white eyelet lace, yet today I am sporting
a fabulous denim skirt that slits in the front with white eyelet sewn in.
It is so dainty and feminine, and perfect on a spring or summer day.
Many of the department stores and catalogs
including Victoria Secret are demonstrating this look. I happen to purchase
my skirt in New York City, at Century 21. Here is my major fashion secret
to all of you Bostonfashion.viewers. This store is a hidden gem, as it
carries major brand names like Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and many European
designers. Yet you can still pick up a Rampage blouse for $15.00. There
is something for everyone!! Next time you’re in the city, make sure you
allot some time for this great shopping excursion. |

4.
Floral spells Femininity.
With the blooming of flowers this spring,
designers are incorporating floral designs on various ensembles. From peasant
tops, capri pants, silk print skirts, and intricately embroidered dresses,
there’s lots of options to choose from. What’s more, floral designs
can look innocent and romantic or energetic with lots of color, depending
on your style or mood. Many celebrities have been spotted wearing floral
designs. Most recently Jennifer Anniston, wore a sheer black sheer top
by Dolce & Gabbana, with red and yellow flowers at the NBC 75th Anniversary
Awards, as well as Amanda Peet at the Spider Man premier with a floral
wrap and denim skirt. |

5. Accessorize!!
As some of you may know by now, Chic Streets
specializes in accessories galore. My most popular merchandise has undoubtedly
been turquoise jewelry, be it set in silver or as fun costume styles. Sure
to be a splash this summer, are alluring turquoise and coral patterns.
I just can’t resist the equestrian look of turquoise, paired up with browns,
caramels, and a hint if fringe. |

Hat’s
off~ In case you haven’t heard the news, hats are a must have this
spring, From the ever so popular bucket hats to the newsboy cap, to kangol
styles. They look great in all fabrics, be it denim, toile, leather, wool,
or mesh. Extra, extra…. The newsboy hats have recently been sported by
the free spirited Gwen Stefani and Cameron Diaz. These styles are just
as cute, as they are sexy! |
| Hope this brings you city gals off to
a sensational start for your summer wardrobe.
Please forward all questions and comments
to Ms a la Chic. She'd love to hear from you. Stay tuned for
a sizzling Summer forecast.
